چکیده

Hydrogen purification is an important part of hydrogen energy utilization. This study aimed to perform multi-component gas (H2/CO2/CH4/CO/N2 = 0.79/0.17/0.021/0.012/0.007) by one-column vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) and (PSA). AC5-KS was selected as the adsorbent for due its greater capacity compared R2030. Furthermore, VPSA PSA 10-step cycle models were established simulate process using Aspen Adsorption platform. The simulation results showed that performance better than on adsorbent. effects feeding time purging purity recovery also discussed. Results has a negative effect positive recovery, while recovery. By artificial neural network (ANN), relationship between inputs (feeding time) outputs (hydrogen recovery) established. Based ANN, interior point method applied optimize performance. Considering two optimization cases, optimized obtained. maximum reached 88.65% when 223 s 96 s. 99.33% 100 45

Hydrogen Storage by Adsorption onto Different Activated Carbons

The objective of this work was to evaluate the hydrogen storage capacities of various activated carbon materials in form of granules, powders, fibers and clothes under cryogenic and ambient temperature conditions (77K 293K), at pressures up to 30Bar. The experimental data were analyzed for carbon samples covering a wide range of BET surfaces and microporous volumes. At 293K, the storage capacit...

Effect of porous texture on hydrogen adsorption in activated carbons

Physisorption-based hydrogen (H 2) storage in microporous carbons has a trade-off between adsorption capacity and adsorption enthalpy [5]. Conceptually, this problem is best illustrated in terms of the ideal slit pore formed from two parallel, semi-infinite graphite slabs. Packing density is maximized when the pore width is several times larger than the diameter of the H 2 molecule, since it pe...

ADSORPTION OF p-NITROPHENOL IN THREE DIFFERENT ACTIVATED CARBONS AT DIFFERENT pH

Adsorption of p-Nitrophenol by three different activated carbons (F100, S.E.I. and B.D.H.) was carried out at 301 K and at controlled pH conditions. Two different adsorption models (Langmuir model and Freundlich model) were studied and compared. The adsorption capacity of the carbons depends on the Point of Zero Charge (PZC) and surface area of the carbons. Adsorption of the solute at higher pH...

Carbon Dioxide Capture and Hydrogen Purification from Synthesis Gas by Pressure Swing Adsorption

Global warming has become more and more serious, which is caused by greenhouse gases. Cutting down the emission of CO2 has already become one of the major research target in the world. This study utilized a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process to separate high-purity hydrogen and to capture CO2 from synthesis gas, which is the effluent stream of water-gas-shift reactor. The purified H2 can b...

Understanding Phenol Adsorption Mechanisms on Activated Carbons

The interactions between phenol molecules and activated carbons were investigated in order to understand the adsorption mechanism of this aromatic compound. A series of activated carbons with varied chemical composition but similar porous features were synthesized and submitted to phenol exposure from aqueous phase, followed by thermogravimetric analysis and identification of the desorbed speci...
